Just north of Marble Falls and the Colorado River is an old stone farmhouse, surrounded by long-fallow fields. During March and April, these fields burst into blue as Texas Bluebonnets emerge. Several acres of a wonderful azure, sprinkled with green and white, flow and blow with the waves of wind. I happened by this site, just after the sun had dropped below the horizon, and a blue mist seemed to surround the old homestead. The rusting hulks of old implements rested in the darkening blueness. Silence gave way to peace.
