Our Weapons of War

THE SPIRITUAL ARMOR AND WEAPONS OF WAR SUPPLIED TO US BY THE LORD OF HOSTS:

1. TRUTH— is the Belt which keeps the rest of the armor in place and holds it all together. Girded firmly around our midsection, it provides support for our "intestinal fortitude."

2. RIGHTEOUSNESS— is the Breastplate—the protective armor that guards our most vital organs and functions.

3. GOSPEL OF PEACE— is the Footwear that gives us a solid base on which to stand, and a readiness and agility to move with the flow of battle.

4. FAITH— is the Shield with which we can deflect and quench the enemy's long-range and rapid-fire attacks on us.

5. SALVATION— is the Helmet that protects our understanding and our will to fight on in the heat of battle.

6. GOD'S WORD— is the Spirit's Sword that is so effective in hand-to-hand combat. It blocks the death-thrusts of our enemy and inflicts grievous harm on his own forces.

7. PRAYER— in the Spirit, is not only the critical channel of communication between our Supreme Commander and His troops (including strategy, intelligence, and tactics), but it is also the vital conduit of the necessary supplies of war (food, ammunition, armor, reinforcements, and transport).
