Prayer Walk |

The Moroto Mountains are a group of peaks in eastern
Karamoja District not far from the border with Kenya. Some
of the summits are in the vicinity of 10,000 feet elevation,
and at their feet, around the periphery of the group, are
scattered several villages of Karamojong. Larry Singletary has been invited by some of these villages to "tell them the Bible stories." Please pray that God's word will deeply penetrate the hearts of these people, and that in this dark place, Satan's schemes to pluck away the newly planted seeds will come to naught.

Moroto town
From the lower slopes of the western side of the mountains,
the town of Moroto,
with a population of around 10,000, can
be seen below.
Climbing up higher into the mountains,
the arid plains of Karamoja can be seen stretching out
far to the western horizon.
Aryambul From near the town of Moroto, the Lia Valley extends straight up into the heart of Mount Moroto. An hour's walk up the valley brings you to the village of Aryambul, meaning "circle of fig trees." This is the village of Losike, the Singletarys' night guard, and the home of the women who first invited Larry to "tell the stories." Larry will continue "storying" in Aryambul until they have heard the complete story of the Bible.

NadaketTraveling south from this spectacular view of Karamoja, we come to a beautiful area that is home to the Nadaket Catholic Seminary. The Seminary is actually a parochial secondary school with students from the Moroto area. Looking from here toward the mountains, we can see a breathtaking view of a waterfall that cascades over the cliffs during the rainy season.
