Namurtomei Namurtomei

Continuing to the south, we arrive at Nomurtomei. Here in 2003, four first and second graders from Lia Primary School, where Terry taught Chronological Bible Storying, were shot by three 13-15 year-old shepherd boys with AK-47's. The school children were walking home from school when the boys opened fire on them. Three of the girls were killed. They caught the guilty boys, who were turned over to the people of Lia Valley to be executed.

Larry was moved to walk with the Lia people through this. At the trial, he was able to share the Gospel to those around him. Before the boys were executed, he was able to look into their faces and share the Love of Christ with them. The people were tired and were ready for all of this to "go away".

Later, Larry took a ministry team up to Namurtomei, the village whose little girls were killed. There was a different sense of attentiveness and responsiveness by the people who were there to hear the Word preached, as they tried to make sense out of this destruction that had struck their hearts. Larry ministered to them as they suffered in the loss of these little girls, and the shepherd boys who were executed for their crime. Continue to pray for them to realize that their only hope is for Christ to come in and take up residence in their hearts - the only path to true peace.

Loyep and Teresa Musas

A little more to the south and about 30 minutes from Moroto town, we come to Musas, a small settlement of Karamojong.

Households near Musas The village of Musas is plagued by demonic river-spirits that are called the "ngipian" by the Karamojong. The people of Musas also have problems with a lying tongue. Pressure from the outside has come in the form of war with the Matheniko tribe that has ravaged the people of Musas.

Kodonyo

Turning to the east, we skirt along the southern edge of the Moroto Mountains. After an hour's drive from Musas we reach Kodonyo. This is the second village to invite Larry Singletary to orally transmit God's story to them. Prayer will be important here for the Spirit to open their minds and hearts to His work. Prayer will also be important to keep Larry transparent to the people, that God's truth and Good News would be clearly perceived.

Turning northward, we drive along the backside, or eastern periphery of the Morotos. The mountains here display their monumental sheer cliff faces and areas of nearly impenetrable bush.
