Farther on to the south of Singala, are roads leading to the local headquarters of the World Food Programme (WFP), and the Karamoja Development Agency (KDA).

The World Food Programme is a non-governmental organization that is assisting the Karamojong in their attempts to develop an efficient, stable, and adequate local food supply. Their help is aimed at improving agricultural methods within the context of the Karamojongs' limited resources.

As we leave Moroto town and head up towards Mount Moroto, we pass the Mount Moroto Hotel. As we move up the mountain, reaching ever-higher elevations, we see Moroto town down below, receding into the distance of the plain of Karamoja.
